剧情梗概：
　　本片讲述的是一个苗族女孩儿—小片,为了展示自己编织的花带,千方百计想去参加乡里苗舞比赛的故事。
　　由于小片个子矮,体形也就显得有些胖,寨里的村长听信了乡干部的话，认为城里来的裁判只喜欢苗条的姑娘，所以就以小片体胖的原因拒绝了小片参加舞蹈队的要求。于是，个性执着的小片开始了她啼笑皆非的减肥计划。
　　与此同时,小片因为爱编花带不喜欢读书而屡屡逃学，她的这一行为引起了班主任杨老师的注意。杨老师为了让面临失学状态的小片重返校园，也同样挖空心思想了各种办法，历尽各种周折。
　　小片为了减肥，也同样使出了各种让人啼笑皆非的办法，但终究事与愿违。比赛马上要开始了，小片仍没能瘦下来，杨老师也没能劝回小片读书，为了心中的最后一丝希望，比赛当天，小片和杨老师不约而同地奔往乡场……

Synopsis

This is the story of a Miao girl, Pian, who wants nothing more than to participate in a local Miao dance competition, and display the decorative headband that she wove herself.

But the head of her village believes that the judges of the dance like only slender girls, and because Pian is short and a little stout, the village head refuses to let her participate in the dance. Thus the determined Pian begins her laughable, doomed quest to lose weight.

At the same time, Pian is constantly dropping out of school to pursue her beloved weaving, and this attracts the attention of Yang Guangrong, her teacher. In order to keep Pian from abandoning her education, Yang racks his brains for a way to help her, but finds himself up against unexpected difficulties.
Meanwhile, Pian is desperately trying to lose weight, but her extravagant efforts are to no avail. On the eve of the dance, Pian is as plump as ever, and Yang has failed to bring her back to school. On the day of the competition, chasing one last thread of hope, both Pian and Yang find themselves rushing into town, to the site of the dance...
